Serena is directed by Susanne Bier and it's based on the novel written by Ron Rash. It takes place in 1930s North Carolina. George (Bradley Cooper) and Serena Pemberton (Jennifer Lawrence) travel from Boston to the North Carolina mountains where they plan to create a timber empire.
